Funeral services for Elmer D Bahnsen, 89, were held March 6 at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming with the Rev. Michael Druhl officiating. Burial was held in the Wyoming Cemetery.

Elmer Bahnsen was born May 5, 1900 near Wyoming, IA, the son of John and Christine Schmalfeldt Bahnsen. He attended county schools near Wyoming and helped his parents on the family farm. In his early years, he barbered in Bryant, and later was a county road worker. On Feb. 27, 1932 he married Hertha Carstensen at Rock Island, IL. The couple were lifelong farmers in the Wyoming area.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Richard of Wyoming, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, seven brothers and three sisters.
