Ben Bahnsen, Wyoming

Funeral services for Ben Bahnsen, 62. were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 29, at the Wyoming Methodist church. Rev Kenneth Harden and Rev. F. E. Somerville were clergyman
Walter Sullivan, soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. Walter Sullivan, organist

Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery, with American Legion services by the Wyoming post. Pallbearers were Francis Urling, Ernest Reitz, Norman Lund, Harold Marshall, Clarence Romer, Martin Petersen.
Ben S. Bahnsen, son of John and Christina Schmalfeldt Bahnsen, was born April 19, 1896, on a farm near Wyoming.

He served in the United States Armed Forces in World War 1. On Dece 27, 1932, he was united in marriage to Helen First. The couple farmed near Wyoming until 1938, at which time they moved into Wyoming where they have been in business since.

Mr. Bahnsen died suddenly at his home on Friday, Dec. 26, at about 6:30 PM
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. John (Darlene) Henderson and Mrs. Clarence (Phyllis) Brown both of Wyoming, one son, Eugene at home, three grandchildren, six, brothers, Peter of Oxford Junction, Alfred of Monmouth, Justus of Marquoketa, John T. of Wyoming, Sol of Oxford Junction and Elmer of Wyoming, and three sisters Mrs. Matie Martens of Westside, Iowa, Mrs. Adolph Benning of Wyoming and Mrs Josie Meyers of Westside, and many nieces and nephews

Mr. Bahnsen was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the American Legion.
