Death Cert

I have traced an ancestor William Lumsden born in Ireland in 1838/1841 and died in Iowa City Johnson County on 15th May 1912. Married to a Mary Gore. Both left Ireland in the mid 1860's and after a stop in New York they lived and died in Iowa.
I have contacted the Iowa state Vital stats department but they will not release Williams Death certificate to me as I live in Dublin Ireland and have said I would have to "call in to the office" to view.
I just want to confirm the details of Williams parents from the Death Cert so that I can be sure he is the correct person. Cindy I don't have your email address that I could send you further details.
Can you help please? I will pay all costs and out of pocket expenses.
