My wife is a descendant of the Wrede family originally of the Liberty Township in Johnson County. I have been doing the genealogy for that line and cannot connect these Wredes to your John. We have two Johns listed, but they were born later. I would love to help you locate this John, because there might be a connection. FYI, the family came from Demmin, Prussia, Germany. All of the brothers we know about were born between 1842 and 1847. None were born in 1844 which might be a clue. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a Wrede in census documents, etc. that we can't account for. How do you know he was in Johnson County, and do you have any idea where in the County?
