MORGAN, GURKEE, LOVE, GRAHAM

Searching for Martha Morgan b. ca 1843, OH, living with the Benjamin Graham family of Iowa City in the 1856 and 1860 census. In 1866, she md. John Henry Gurkee, a civil war veteran, who at the age of 18, enlisted as a private on 21 May 1864 in Co. G 47th Infantry Regiment of Iowa, mustered out from the same unit on 28 Sep. 1864. No data after that date!

Martha, we think, had a sister, Catherine Morgan b. 1838, OH is listed with the Benjamin Graham family in the 1856 census and Sarah J. Morgan b. 1848, b. OH who in 1856 is listed with the Hiram W. Love, a Civil War Major, of Iowa City.
