Looking for information about Phillip Clark. A letter written by his grand daughter, Clara, says the following:
"There is quite a bit of history attached to Phillip Clark. In Iowa, he was known as "Paul Revere" because of a famous ride he made on horseback to bring the capital of Iowa to Iowa City. The capital building still stands there and is a beautiful work of architecture. He gave property for many of the oldest buildings in Iowa City and his name is in the history books. Several years ago Iowa City held a centennial and my mother was the honored guest" (unknown date)1870 CENSUS NEWPORT TWP., JOHNSON CO., IOWA
