Iowa City Citizen (Iowa City, Iowa)- December 16, 1918
Mrs. John Umbdenstock died Wednesday at her rural home near Mechanicsville. She was formerly Miss Adelaide Keefer, and was married twenty-three years ago. Surviving her are her husband, and eleven children, the youngest, one year of age, and the eldest twenty-two years of age. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Altman, of Solon; two brothers, Bert of North Liberty, and Charles of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, one in California and one in Washington.

The remains were brought Friday to Solon, where burial took place in Oakland cemetery.

Many friends in Johnson county will regret to learn of the death of this good woman.
