John H. Jensen, 76, of North Liberty died peacefully Friday, August 3, 2007
at his home following a long battle with cancer.

Memorial Services to celebrate John’s life will be at 11am, Friday, August 10, 2007
at the First United Methodist Church, 85 N Jones Blvd, North Liberty, with Rev.Alicia Williams officiating. The family will greet friends from 9 to 11am at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in John’s memory. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service.

John was born May 15, 1931 in Ogden, Iowa, the son of Floyd and Clara Shick Jensen.
John was a graduate of Ogden High School and received his BA in business at the University of Iowa. He served in the US Air Force in Korea. On August 31, 1957 he married Rita Duffy. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this month.

John had worked with the General Accounting Office in Washington DC for three years. Upon returning to Iowa he was with the Defense Contract Audit Agency in Cedar Rapids. He retired in 1988.

John was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church and the North Liberty
Fire Department.

John is survived by his wife, Rita and their three sons, Stephen (Carla) Jensen of Solon,
Jeffrey of North Liberty and Bruce of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Rhonda (Keith)
Kjosa of North Liberty and Gary (Lorri) Jensen of Iowa City.

John was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Gwendolyn Carpenter and Mary Ann Gregg.
