Rodney A. Strub, 60, of 1114 Prairie du Chien Rd., died Friday in the emergency room at Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born March 30, 1928, at Iowa City, he married Beverly Jane Crain there Nov. 21 1949. For 37 years, Mr. Strub was a postal carrier, retiring in 1983. He was a member of National Association of Letter Carriers, Moose, and EAA Experimental Aircraft.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Master Sgt. Gregg, of Spokane, WA., Les of Iowa City, and Jeff of Coralville; a daughter, Valerie Vevera of Iowa City; his mother, Nettie Strub of Iowa City and nine grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, George L. Gay’s, by the Rev. Leon Aalberts. Burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
