J.L. UMBDENSTOCK, 71, DIES AT HOSPITAL; TO BE BURIED ON MONDAY

John Louis Umbdenstock, 71, of near Mechanicsville, died at a Cedar Rapids hospital Friday after an illness of two weeks.

He was born September 23, 1875, near Solon. His wife, Adeline, died about 30 years ago.

Mr. Umbdenstock is survived by two sons, Charles of Tipton and George of Mechanicsville, six daughters, Mrs. Mary Cook, of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Edward Bickford of Cascade, Mrs. Charles Stahle of Solon, Mrs. Phillip Vaile of Milwaukee, Mrs. Clyde Twigg of Long Grove and Mrs. Clifford Smith of Bettendorf; two sisters, Mrs. William Peters and Ella Umbdenstock, both of Solon; one brother, William of Marion; 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Brosh funeral home in Solon and a 10 a.m. at St. Mary's church in Solon. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
NOTE: Not listed in obituary is wife's maiden name. Her name was Adeline Keefer. She died in 1918
