Ruth M. Franks, 74, of Iowa City, died Thursday February 23, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics from injuries sustain in an automobile accident.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday February 28, 2006 at 10:00 am at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City with Carl Whittaker officiating. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:30-7:30 at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established in Ruth’s name.

Ruth was born on January 4, 1932 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Theodore H. and Lucia P. Hunt Stark. She married Eugene Franks on June 23, 1967 in Kahoka, MO. He passed away on November 9, 2002.

Ruth is survived by her seven children Merle Christner, Nancy Shannon, Ted Christner, Kaylene Christner, Curtis Christner, Glenda Demorest and husband James and JR Rosenstangle. Eleven grandchildren; Val, Monica, Amanda, Kevin, Marilyn, Keelin, Kristopher, Jessica, Kevin, Kelsey and Alexandra, and four great-grandchildren; Hailey, Jacob, Aaron, and Andrew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother John, four sisters; Maebelle Wordan, Marguerite McPherson, Inez, and Mary Alice Henning, her daughter Charlotte Jameson.
