Todd Ashley Butler, 50, formerly of Iowa City died Saturday, January 28, 2006 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines following a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services to celebrate Todd’s life will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at 1pm at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, where friends may call after 11am. Burial with military rites will be held at Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Assn.

Todd was born September 6, 1955 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Arthur and Vivian Smith McNeil. He graduated from Peru, Indiana high school in 1973. Todd served in the US Navy and graduated from Concordia College in 1988. On August 23, 1980 he married Rebecca Lee Hogan in Iowa City.

Todd had worked at KCCI Channel 8 in Des Moines and was proud of the fact that he had his FCC 1st class radio and telephone license. Todd was a member of the Des Moines Model Railroad Club and the A.R.R.L. HAMM Radio Club, where his call sign was N0NCL. He was an avid Cleveland Indian and Cleveland Brown fan.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Butler of Des Moines; two sisters, Heidi (Chris) Bednarski and Sue Correll, both of Peru, Indiana; two brothers, Roger McNeil of Des Plaines, Illinois and David McNeil of Abilene, Texas; his mother-in-law, Donna Hogan of Iowa City; sisters-in-law, Darolyn Wall of Chandler, Arizona, Teri Kelchen of Cedar Rapids and Debra Schatzle of Walker, Iowa; brothers-in-law, Jerald Hogan of Cedar Rapids, Mike Hogan of Norwalk, Derreck Hogan of Overland Park, Kansas; and his cats Belle, Beau and Jasmine.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents.
