Josephine Anciaux, 87, of 320 E. Washington St., died Sunday, January 15, 2006 at Mercy Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 1:30pm at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service with entombment at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A reception at Zion Lutheran Church will follow the committal. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. Memorial may be directed to Mercy Hospital Foundation.

Josephine was born August 14, 1918 in Iowa City, the daughter of Fred and Laura Marguerite “Nettie” Voss Zeithamel. She was a graduate of City High School and on November 17, 1935 she married Audry Anciaux in Rutledge, Missouri. They had celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Josephine, Audry and their children owned and operated Unique Cleaners in downtown Iowa City for 57 years. She had also been employed at UIHC.

She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Audry; her daughter, Patricia (George) Turecek of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida and her children Kurtis Klinefelter of Phoenix and Mark (Gretchen) Klinefelter of Liberty, Missouri; her son, Audry Richard Jr. (Viola) and his daughter Angela, all of North English; her great grandson Kurtis Klinefelter Jr.;her brother, Leo (Donna) Zeithamel of North Liberty

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert.
