May 25, 1955Al. J. Strub, 72, Former Resident, Dies in California
Al J. Strub, 72, a former resident of Iowa City, died early today at a hospital in Los Angeles, Calif., following a lingering illness.
The son of Conrad and Katherine Kost Strub, he was born in Iowa City.
Mr. Strub attended St. Patrick’s school and was employed as a tinner for many years. He later moved to Cedar Rapids and then to Long Beach, Calif.
Survivors include his widow, Lucille; one son, Donald of Chicago, and two grandchildren, Diane and Jerry Strub, both of Chicago. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Ralph Leighton of Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. G. L. Miller, Mrs. Mary Kessler and Mrs. Rena Thomason, all of Iowa City.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Clifford and Edward and one sister, Rosa.
Funeral services and burial will be in Long Beach.
