Esther Berry

Mrs. Esther Berry, 86, of Route 3, died at Mercy Hospital Monday evening after a short illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jack Zerwas officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Berry was born April 21, 1884, in Johnson County,daughter of John and Mary Ann Breese Thomas. She attended the Iowa City Academy and was a lifelong resident of the Iowa City area. She was married to William M. Berry Feb. 27, 1907, She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church in Union Township.
Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Gertrude Kloos of Iowa
City, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hughes and Mrs. Malcolm (Adelaide) Lewis, both of Iowa City. Preceding her in death were her husband and a daughter.
