DIES TODAY

Funeral For Local
Sheet Metal Worker,
76, To Be Thursday

George E. Seydel, 403 South Lucas street, lifelong resident of Iowa City, died at 12:15 a.m. today at Mercy hospital after a long illness. He was 76.
Mr. Seydel, a sheet metal worker by trade, was born in Iowa City December 21, 1873, the son of Jacob N. and Rebecca Stebbin Seydel. August 9, 1894, he was married here to Miss Ida M. Kloos of Iowa City.
He was a member of the First Christian church, the Moose, and the Legion of the Moose. Mr. Seydel had also been a member of the local Odd Fellows lodge for 49 years.
Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Roberts, of Lake Stevens, Wash., and Mrs. Rita Allen, of Iowa City; one son, Leroy, of St. Louis, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Beckman's with the Rev. Leon C. England, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in the Oakland cemetery. Complete Odd Fellows services will be held at the funeral home.
