Lillian Ann Abbott, 96, of 1108 E. Bloomington Street, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at her home.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 16 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Avenue in Iowa City with a rosary at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 17 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Iowa City. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a fund in Lillian’s name.

Lillian was born April 17, 1909 in Cedar Valley, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Mary (Sponar) Cizek. Lillian married Clyde Abbott in Iowa City on July 12, 1947. She worked at the University of Iowa at Currier Hall until her retirement in April 1962.

Lillian was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She had been a 50 plus year member of the Moose Lodge and was active with her church. Lillian enjoyed listening to music, playing the organ, spending time with her sisters and friends and playing bingo. She loved animals, especially cats.

Lillian is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Steve and Deb Abbott of West Branch and their son Benjamin of Iowa City; her newly found daughter Evelyn Van Duyne of Largo, Florida; and many special nieces and nephews and their families.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde (who passed away January 11, 1991), her parents, three sisters, Agnes Huffman, Celia Zervakis and Mildred Hamer and an infant brother, Adolph.

Lillian was a very caring and loving person who will be greatly missed.
