Jeffrey W..”Jeff” Lentfer, 41, formerly of Iowa City, died unexpectedly Monday, December 12, 2005 at his home in Stanardsville, Virginia.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11:00 am at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City with Pastor Tim Zimmermann officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials may be directed to The Jeff Lentfer Memorial Fund.

Jeff was born February 2, 1964 in Iowa City, the youngest son of Robert & Phyliss (Andresen) Lentfer. He graduated from Iowa City High School in 1982 and the University of Iowa in 1987. His career was as a history teacher, most recently at the United Christian School in Stannardsville, VA. Jeff loved to teach and was especially interested in Civil War history. Jeff’s other love was playing softball as an adult.

He leaves to mourn his loss his mother and father in Iowa City, brother Jim and wife Veronica and niece Michelle and nephew John in Cupertino, California, and brother Mark and wife Sue of Sunnyvale, California.
