Rose Mary Rogers, 84, formerly of 713 Page Street and a resident of Legacy Pointe died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 at Mercy Hospital surrounded by her family.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church with the Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Lensing’s Oak Hill, Coralville, and after 9:30 am Saturday at the Church. A rosary will be recited at 4pm, Friday at the funeral home and a Parish Vigil Service at 6:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa City Hospice or St. Patrick’s Church.

Rose Mary was born January 20, 1921 in Holbrook, IA, the daughter of Frank and Mary Laurine Donahue Leeney. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School and attended the Irish Business College. On June 2, 1943, Rose Mary married Arlo Rogers at St. Patrick’s Church in Iowa City, IA. He died on Nov. 23, 1996.

Rose Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Altar & Rosary Society. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed euchre, crossword puzzles, traveling and attending dances in her younger years.

Survivors include two sons, Dick (Kaye) Rogers and Jim (Reda) Rogers, both of Iowa City; one daughter, Leanne (John) Schaab of Bettendorf, IA; five grandchildren, Tim, David, John, Jeff and Shannon; one great grandchild, Colin Michael; four sisters, Lucille (Frank) Boyd, Shirley (Phil) Rocca. all of Iowa City, Kay Schneberger of Monticello, MN., and Marlene Fuhrmeister of Cedar Rapids, IA., nieces and nephews.

Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Francis and Gene, and her sister Dolores.
