Paul “Ted” Rummelhart, 77, of 2124 Palmer Circle died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at
Mercy Hospital following a brief illness..

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at 11am at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service with the Rev. Tom Doyle officiating. Burial with military honors by the Riverside VFW Post#6414 will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather for a luncheon at the Eagles Lodge following the committal services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Ted would want everyone to feel comfortable so please dress casually.

Ted was born March 18, 1928 in Riverside, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Clara
Shebanek Rummelhart. He was raised in Riverside and was a 1947 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He served in the US Army in the Korean War from 1950-52. On October 18, 1958 he married Jackie Manasmith in Iowa City.
They recently celebrated their 47th anniversary.

Ted had been employed for thirty years as the assistant manager of maintenance at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, retiring in 1990.

Ted was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose #1096, the Riverside VFW Post #6414 and American Legion Post #17. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. #17.

Ted enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Ted is survived by his wife, Jackie; six siblings, Elaine Brown of Garland, Texas,
Gertrude (Bill) Landry of Cynthiana, Kentucky, Esther (Don) Spevacek and
Hubert (Leona) Rummelhart, both of Iowa City, Richard (Lenore) Rummelhart of Des Moines, Joanne (Richard) Horesowsky of Kalona; one brother-in-law Larry Manasmith; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Randy in 1980, two brothers Lester and Elmer.
