DEATH OF A LOVED PIONEER.

Mrs. Julia A. Marshall, a Long Time

Resident of Scott Township.
Mrs. Julia A. Marshall died at 4 o'clock on Saturday afternoon, at the home of her son Thomas E. Marshall, Hartley, Iowa, after an illness of two weeks, in the eighty-third year of her ago [sic]. She leaves three sons, Marcus A. of Iowa City, Thomas E. of Hartley, and Joseph D., of this city.
Mrs. Marshall came to Johnson county with her family in 1857, and for many years was known and loved by the people of the eastern part of the county and of Iowa City. At the death of her husband she removed to this city and made her home with her sons later going to Hartley with Thomas Marshall. She had filled out a long and active life, full of good works and leaves the memory of one whose life work was well and nobly done.
The funeral will take place from the home of Marcus A. Marshall 205(265?) North Linn street at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Services will be held at the house. the burial will be at Scott cemetery.
