Betty Jean Aubrecht, 91, of North Liberty passed away on August 30, 2023 at Windmill Manor.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday September 5, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Coralville.

Betty was born on March 3, 1932, in Kalona, Iowa to Ervin “E E” and Faye (Baker) Grecian. She was raised in Kalona and later moved to the Iowa City/Coralville area before settling in North Liberty in 2008.

Betty married Merrill “Shorty” Aubrecht on January 15, 1955 in Lone Tree and together the couple raised their five children, Karen, Douglas, Ronald, Kevin and Sherrie. She spent her career in food service, working for the Veteran Affairs Medical Center for 30 years, retiring in 1994.

Betty was a great cook and enjoyed fishing, camping and shopping.

She is survived by two daughters Karen Aubrecht of Golden, CO, and Sherrie Aubrecht of North Liberty, IA, two sons Douglas Aubrecht of Coralville, IA, and Kevin Aubrecht of Florida, three grandchildren Kimberly, Chris and Cody, three great-grandchildren Cameron, Chase and Quinten, and two siblings Leo (Merna) Grecian of Coralville, IA, and Joan (Jerry) Michel of Hills, IA.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ronald Aubrecht, and daughter-in-law Tina Aubrecht.
