Dean J. Schreiber, 78, died peacefully Friday, September 1, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Dean’s Life will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the farm, which is located at 372 255th Street, West Branch, Iowa 52358. Family committal services will be at Ridgewood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Dean Schreiber Memorial Fund.

Dean was born March 2, 1945 in Iowa City, the son of George J. and Florence (Waldschmidt) Schreiber. He married Diana Yoder on January 6, 1968. Diana died on February 5, 2017.

Dean served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation in highways maintenance.

Dean is survived by two daughters, Jodie Schreiber and Kelly (Scott) Jehle; four grandchildren, Teagan Schreiber, Erin Jehle (Michael Alderson), Ryan (Wesley) Dawson, and Lynn Jehle; five great-grandchildren, Rilynn, Rowan, Xander, Elliana, and Emerson; three siblings, George (Regina) Schreiber, Carol Laschke, and Doris Radcliff.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and siblings, Charles, Maryann Moore, and Ailene Murphy.
