Leo G. Goss, 77, of 514 Brown Street in Iowa City, died Saturday, October 1st, 2005 in his home of cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City with Reverend Michael T. Phillips officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Leo was born December 9, 1927 in Iowa City, the son of Fred & Evelyn (Hines) Goss. He graduated from Iowa City High School. Leo married Ruth Manegold on August 5, 1950 in West Point, Iowa. He was a milkman for 36 years for Sanitary Dairies – now Swiss Valley Dairies, retiring in 1987. Leo was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and a former member of Knights of Columbus Marquette Council #842 and Iowa City Moose Lodge #1096. Leo enjoyed hunting but above all, fishing – and he shared that passion with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Ruth;
sons, David Goss & his wife Marlene of Waterloo, Jim Goss & his wife Carmina of Valdosta, Georgia and Darin Goss & his wife Tina of Cedar Rapids;
daughters, Connie Russell and Sharon Schillig, both of Iowa City; a sister, Shirley Turner of Iowa City; brothers, Robert Goss & his wife Pat of Leesburg, Florida and James Goss & his wife Patricia of Iowa City;
grandchildren, Chris Schillig & his wife Morgan, Amber Russell, Jason Russell, Mistina Bremer, Shea Russell, Nicole Goss, Erica Goss, Lisa Goss, Jaimie Goss, Victoria Goss, Rachel Goss and Adam Michael Goss;
great granddaughter Madison Goss-Netser and great grandson Larry Schillig;
step granddaughter, Amy Howland & her husband Bryon;
step grandson, Todd Anderson;
step great grandsons, Austin Kugler & Tyler Anderson;
and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Fred Goss, a sister, Marge Fraiser & a sister & her husband, Kathrine & Donald Vrochoticky, a daughter in law, Patty Goss and a son in law, Stephen Schillig.
