Steven Hahn, 63, of Coralville, passed away on August 6, 2023 at the Iowa City Veteran’s Administration Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the S.T. Morriston Park in Coralville. Military honors will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Steve was born in Moline, Illinois to Earlen and Vera (Reid) Hahn on December 26, 1959. After attending high school in Muscatine, Steve proudly enrolled in the United States Army where he served as a medic for nearly six years.

Following discharge, Steve took on an apprenticeship at a print shop in Maryland before moving back to the Midwest. He then worked at Hon Industries for 18 years before doing quite a bit of traveling. Once settled he worked at Wal-Mart before falling ill.

Steve’s greatest joy was helping people. Whether it be taking a stranger to lunch or handing out money to someone in need, his generous and giving heart never went unnoticed. His faith, Bible studies and devotion to The Living Truth Fellowship brought him inner peace, comfort and hope. He was a strong, self-sufficient individual that enjoyed his family and the company of good friends.

Steve is survived by his siblings: Daniel (Teresa) Hahn, Elden Hahn, Felicia Sharp and Sue (Daniel) Miles; nieces and nephews: D.J. (Gail) Hahn, Zachary (Arlene) Hahn, Nichelle Drake (Nick Carson), Hilary Holmes, Lisa (Bob) Wilson, Mike (Wendy) Gray, Jessica Orozco, Kate Phillips, Ryan Mercado and Daniel C. Miles; several great nieces and great nephews and close friend, Diana Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Vernon Hahn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crowded Closet in Iowa City or the Muscatine Church of Christ.
