Marcia Ruth Munz, 78, formerly of Iowa City, died peacefully Friday August 4th 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Marcia was born September 16th, 1944, in Worthington, Minnesota to Marvin and Margaret (Winne) Smith. She was raised and educated in Sibley, Iowa where she worked in her mother and father’s family-owned shoe store in high school. Following high school, Marcia attended college at the University of Iowa. She later moved to Wilmington, Delaware where she married Steven Munz Sr. on November 17, 1966. Marcia gave birth to her son Steve on June 8th, 1967. Marcia enjoyed camping, photography and working with stained glass.

She is survived by her son Steve Munz and his wife Amy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two grandchildren Sydney and Isabella Munz of Cedar Rapids; her sister Shirley Sixt Smalley; one nephew and three nieces Jerry Neopon-Sixt and his wife Janice of Tampa, Florida; Karen Guth and her husband Joe of Portland, Oregon; Rose Roelf and her husband Mike of Iowa City; Martha Kirby and her husband Bob of Iowa City.
