Michael Stanley Ficke passed away in Coralville, Iowa on Wednesday June 28th, 2023, at the age of 57.

Mike was born on July 11th, 1965, in International Falls, Minnesota to parents Jerome John Ficke and Diane Veronica Hoveland. He was the younger brother to his sister Tina and had a Husky puppy named Mush. During Mike’s childhood, he developed many interests and hobbies such as hockey, boating, hanging out with friends and cheering on all the Minnesota sports teams. He had a love for 80’s music, especially Prince which was shared among friends and family. Another love of his was the Sha Sha resort on Rainy Lake, where Mike spent much of his free time.

After Mike finished high school, he went off to college at St. Cloud State University with his best friend, Ed Karsnia. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Developmental and Child Psychology before excelling at insurance sales.

Michael eventually moved to Omaha, NE to continue his work and start a family in 1998. He then brought his daughter Maddison into the world in 2000. Maddison became his world and was (slightly) spoiled by Mike. Mike and his family made the move to Solon, Iowa in 2002 where many memories were made. Cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and golfing being a couple of his favorites.

Mike is survived by his daughter Maddison Ficke, sister and brother-in-law Tina and Joe Vauthier, nephew Jason Besch and his wife Jackie and niece Caitlin Moller and her husband Cole.
