Michael Eugene Jennings, 82, of Winfield, IA, died on March 11, 2023 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. A service with military honors will be held at a later date.

Michael was born on January 3, 1941, the son of Harvey and Geraldine (Walsh) Jennings in Winfield, Iowa. He graduated from Winfield High School . Michael was united in marriage to Pauline Carter on September 27, 1968; she preceded him in death on November 30, 2011. He retired in 1987 from the United States Airforce as the Director of Logistics after 21 years of service. During his time in the military he was a strategic B-52 bomber for 17 years, with the rank of Lt. Colonel. After retirement from the military Michael farmed on his family’s farm until retirement in 2018.

Michael is survived by his two children, Joanna Peterson of Meadow Vista, CA, and Andrew (Margaret) Arthur of England; seven grandchildren, Taylor, Blake, and Ty Peterson, Hanna, Lauren, and Lisa Arthur and Lauren Murphie-Smith.

Michael was preceded in death by his wife, and daughter, Jane Walls.
