Sgt. Ronnie Reynolds, 25, a former resident of the Johnson County area serving in the U.S. Army in Colorado, has been reported killed of accidental gunshot wounds. Reynolds is the son of William Reynolds of Tipton.
Reynolds was killed Tuesday of "accidentally self-inflicted gunshot wounds" at his residence near Ft. Carson, Colo., according to Army and civil authorities, who said the accident is still under investigation.
Services are pending at the George L. Gay Funeral Home in Iowa City.
Reynolds was born Dec. 24, 1950, at Iowa City, the son of William Earl and Gladys Reade Reynolds. He was a graduate of West Branch High School.
He served two years in Viet Nam and a year in Germany prior to his assignment to Ft. Carson. Before that, he worked a year at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City.
Survivors include his father, 7 brothers, Loren, Oxford; Donnie, Marysville, California; Merten, Tuscon, Arizona; William in the Navy in Lemoore, California; Kenneth, Iowa City; Lonnie in the Navy in the Philippines; Galen in the Air Force at Phoenix, Arizona; 2 sisters, Mrs. Larry Hemsted, North Liberty and Mrs. James Greene, Washington, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his mother.
