Delores “Dolly” Rogers, 81, formerly of Iowa City, died Friday, September 2, 2005 at Windmill Manor in Coralville.

Dolly chose to have private funeral services. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Amenity Hospice, 211 1st Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52401. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City is in charge of arrangements.

Dolly was born December 15, 1923 in Oakes, North Dakota, the daughter of Oscar & Clara (Bloedorn) McGrew. She was raised in Belle Plaine, Iowa and had lived in Iowa City since 1972.
She married Don Clemons of LaDora on July 26, 1941. The couple divorced in 1972. She married Gerald “Barney” Rogers of Iowa City on January 23, 1976.

Dolly worked as a housekeeper in the University of Iowa dormitories for five years and later worked as clothing manager at the Iowa Medical Classification Center in Oakdale, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxillary and was a volunteer at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. She also worked part-time for the Iowa City Press Citizen. Dolly had been a resident at Windmill Manor since July of 2004.

Survivors include her sister, Muriel Shellenberger of Littleton, Colorado;
children, Don Clemons Jr. & his wife Debra of McKinney, Texas, Robert Clemons & his wife Linda of Kettering, Ohio, and Deborah McMann of North Liberty, Iowa;
her grandchildren, Tracy Schriever, Chris McMann, Julie Schrader & Joel McMann;
great grandchildren, Adam, Colin, Ethan, Megan, Noah, Owen & Jack;
step-son, Ronald Rogers & his wife Virginia of Tucson, Arizona and their three children, step-daughter Pat Prymek & her husband Ron of Des Moines & their six children, and step-daughter Geri Allen of Springdale AR. & her two children.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Barney, five brothers, two sisters and two infant sons at birth.
