Francis “Frank” Clark, 84, passed away on December 7, 2022 at his home.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Private interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Frank was born on February 4, 1938 in Iowa City to Frank and Evelyn (Scheetz) Clark. After graduating from City High in 1956, he attended the University of Iowa. Frank also served in the Iowa National Guard for nearly 10 years.

In 1964, Frank married Stella Schmidt. Together, they had four children. Frank worked for Owen’s Brush and Hometown Dairy before retiring from Nagle Lumber.

In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, fishing, learning about history and tending to his vegetable garden. He especially enjoyed wood carving and spending time with his family. He got joy from sharing and giving his creations to anyone who wanted them.

Frank is survived by his loving wife, Stella; children: Tim (Deb) Clark, Larry Clark and Thomas Clark; siblings: Rose Clark and Steve Clark and his granddaughter, Mary Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Mary, and his siblings: Marilyn Schintler and Jim Clark.
