Pioneer Passes Away

Mrs. Helen Kasper, widow of Frank Kasper, passed away in Newport township, at the home of her son, Joseph J. Kasper, Saturday night at 8 o’clock. She was almost 80 years of age, and had been ill about three years.

She was a native of Austria, and had lived in Newport township for 40 years, locating there in 1865. Three sons and one daughter survive – Mrs. Helen Whittaker, of Iowa City; Jas. B., John F., and Joseph J. Kasper, of Newport township. To these bereaved children many friends will extend sincere sympathy, for they have lost a loved and loving mother - a truly good woman.

The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock from St. Mary’s church, in Newport township.
