Joseph H. Crippen, whose home is 118 Bloomington st., passed away Saturday of typhoid fever. He would have been 20 years of age the coming Thursday. The services were held today in the M. E. church at North Liberty. The beraved[sic] mother will have the sympathy of all.

FUNERAL OF J. H. CRIPPEN

Young Man of Twenty is Laid at Rest at North Liberty Today – Died Saturday.

This morning at the Methodist church in North Liberty, was held the funeral of Joseph Henry Crippen, who died Saturday noon in this city. The remains left the city this morning at ten over the interurban. The interment was made in the North Liberty cemetery.

At the time of his death Joseph Crippen has[sic] almost reached the age of twenty. His was a splendid future, which death cut short. He was loved and praised by all, and his loss will be felt by more than his immediate relatives.
