Dewey Richard Hinkel, 85, died peacefully Saturday, August 13, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, August 19, 2022 at Lensing Oak Hill Funeral Service, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to service time. Burial will be at Ridgewood Cemetery, North Liberty. In lieu of flowers the Dewey Hinkel Memorial Fund has been established.

Dewey was born September 9, 1936 in Iowa City, the son of Dewey and Pearl (Mace) Hinkel. He was a graduate of City High School. On November 28, 1957 Dewey married Patricia Jo Ayers.

Dewey was a foreman at Farm Services for many years. He loved to hunt, ride horses, ride his ATV, and truck pull. Most important to Dewey was the time spent with his family.

Dewey is survived by two sons, Todd Hinkel (Kim) and Chad Hinkel (Jacey), both of North Liberty; grandchildren, Holly Hinkel of Overland Park, KS and Bryce Hinkel of Bloomfield, IA; and his sister, Sharon Riese of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and one sister, Pat.
