Fred Winston Is Found Dead

Fred L. Winston, 78, died at his home at 930 South Dubuque Street about 8 a.m. Sunday after a long illness. His wife is in a hospital and Mr. Winston’s body was found by relatives.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday at McGovern’s funeral home with the Rev. Fred Penney of the African Methodist Episcopal church officiating. Burial will be in at Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Winston had been employed at University hospital.

He was born September 1, 1884, at Muscatine and in 1916 married Margaret C. Alexander at Marion. He lived here most of his life.

Survivors include the widow; a half-sister, Nina Robinson of Muscatine, and a half brother, Tom Lloyd of Muscatine. A sister and a son preceded him in death.
