Gary Lee Hagen, 69, of Iowa City, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iowa City Public Library.
Gary was born on February 5, 1952 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Walter and Vivian (Peterson) Hagen. He was raised in Algona and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa. Gary was the supervisor of Stores Services for the University of Iowa for several years until retirement. He enjoyed golf, sports, music, movies and reading. He loved spending time with his brother, Don, nieces, great- nieces and many friends.
Gary is survived by his brother, Donald (Doris) Hagen of Plainfield, Indiana and two nieces: Lisa Goewey of Geneva, Illinois and Dionne Bales of Fishers, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents.
