Found Dead in Bed
Thomas H. Coughlin was found dead in bed in his bachelor apartment in East Iowa City Wednesday afternoon, with a gas jet to the kitchen stove pouring deadly gas into his room.

Mr. Coughlin had been sick from influenza for a week and when friends entered the house they were unable to remain for the sickening odor of gas. Investigation disclosed an open jet to the kitchen stove. Coroner Murphy made an examination and was of the opinion that the cause of death was accidental.

Mr. Coughlin had but one relative here. Joe Beranek, with whom he formerly conducted a harness shop. Deceased was 46 years of age, an upright and highly respected man who had many friends.
