Patricia Jo “Pat” Hinkel, 67 of North Liberty, passed away Saturday April 23, 2005 at her home following a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday April 27, 2005 at Lensing Oakhill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville. Burial at Ridgewood Cemetery, North Liberty. Visitation for friends and family will be from 4:00–8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Pat’s name to the American Diabetes Association, 1073 Rockford Rd SW Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.

Pat was born August 31, 1937 in Iowa City, IA to Clifford and Violet May (Kelly) Ayers. She attended and graduated from Washington High School in Washington. She married Richard “Dick” Hinkel on November 28, 1957 in Iowa City. Pat was a waitress for 40 years at the Hamburg Inn in Iowa City before retiring in 1999. Pat loved horses and still to this day had a horse named “Pumpkin”.

Pat is survived by her husband Dick of North Liberty, two sons; Chad of North Liberty and Todd (Kim) of North Liberty, one sister Diane Fowler (James) of Riverside, IA, two brothers; Jerry Ayers of Start-up, Washington and Ronald Ayers of Coralville, IA. Two granddaughters; Holly Ann and Bryce Marie Hinkel of North Liberty.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents.
