Ward Liebe
KALONA - Ward Liebe, 34, died Saturday afternoon at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, where he had been a patient for two months.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church in Washington, Iowa, the Rev. Edward Shepard officiating. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. A memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Liebe, who was known as Woody, was born Oct. 31, 1939 in Iowa City, the son of Ward and Rosiland DeFrance Liebe. He married Constance Pieper Sept. 28, 1957 at Richland. He graduated from the Kalona High School in 1957 and was employed for 11 years by the Standard Oil Co. He was a member of St. James Church in Washington.
Surviving are his wife; seven children, Jeff, Cherrie, Steve, Randy, Michelle, Patti and Mike, all at home; his parents, of Kalona; and a brother, Don, of Muscatine.My Jesus Have Mercy On The Soul Of
