Josephine Taddonio, 84
Josephine "Josie" M. Taddonio, 84, formerly of 501 Fifth Ave., died Sunday, April 6, 1997, at Iowa City Rehablitation and Health Center after a short illness.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul A. Deyo officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. tonight at George L. Gay Funeral Home & Crematorium. Memorials may be made to the Josephine Taddonio Memorial Fund.
Mrs. Taddonio was born Sept. 30, 1912, in Boston to Pasquale and Amelia Porcaro. She went to school and grew up in the New York City area, where she worked as a seamstress. She married Anthony Taddonio on Sept. 9, 1934, in New York City. The couple later moved to Iowa City, where she worked at Younkers Department Store. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Pat and Linda Taddonio of Lakeville, Minn.; a daughter-in-law, "Marcia" Colleen Arends of Iowa City; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband; a son, Joseph; a sister; and two brothers died earlier.
