Mrs. Adeline Douglas Cochran passed away Sunday morning at her home near Oasis, after a short illness of pneumonia. The service will be held there at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.

Mrs. Cochran was born April 3, 1835, in Butler county, Pennsylvania, and came to Iowa with her parents, as a young woman in 1854. She was married January 22, 1857, to Mr. Matthew Cochran, and came as a bride to the farm near Oasis, where she passed the remainder of her life.

Soon after coming to Iowa, Mrs. Cochran united with the Presbyterian church at Iowa City. She was a life long member of that institution, and took active part in its good work and all other enterprises of community interest. She led a consistent Christian life, and has gone to her reward.

Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Harris of Sheridan, Wyo., and Charles, George, James and Raymond Cochran; and the Misses Lura and Grace Cochran.--Iowa City Press-Citizen, March 5, 1923.
