Ralph Meer, 67, of 726 Clark St., died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital in Tuscon [sic], Ariz., after a sudden illness.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the George L. Gay Funeral Home where friends may call after noon Tuesday. Masonic services will be Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Shrine Burn Hospitals. Burial will be in Sharon Center Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Meer was born at Sharon Center, Jan. 6, 1910, to Fred J. and Mabel Weeber Meer. He attended Sharon Center schools.

He married Nina Conner on May 16, 1931.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City, Iowa City Lodge AF&AM 4, the Shrine Club, the Davenport Consistory and KAABA Shrine.

He was a University Hospital ambulance driver a number of years, sold feed and was employed by the Iowa Highway Commission prior to his retirement.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Milton (Sonya) Mares of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs. John (Sydna) Durst Jr. of Wellman; five grandchildren; four brothers, Clarke of Iowa City, Roy of Kalona, Robert of Waukesha, Wis., and Gene of Davenport; and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Coy of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Jesse (Ida) Grout of Riverside.
