Sondra Lee Crawford, 74, died peacefully Monday, April 23rd at Briarwood Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, April 27th at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Sondra Crawford Memorial Fund or to Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
Sondra was born May 6, 1943 in Des Moines, the daughter of William and Susie Moore Wilson Sr. She was a graduate of Des Moines Technical High School and received her medical assistant certificate from Kirkwood Community College. On June 12, 1961 Sondra married Richard Crawford.
Sondra was employed at VAMC as a medical clerk for 26 years, prior to that she worked at UIHC.
She enjoyed time spent bowling and going to the casino. Sondra had been a director on the Iowa City Women’s Bowling Assn.
Sondra is survived by her daughter, Judith “Judy” (Wade) McNair of Iowa City; her grandchildren, Giles (Kim) McNair and Cari McNair (James Hladik), both of Virginia Beach, VA; her great granddaughter Belle; four siblings, Shirley Caster, William Wilson Jr, Laura (Charles) Wasserman and Neva Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Jeffrey and her brother Charles.
