Eryn Fruge, 63, died Tuesday, April 24th at UIHC.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, April 30th at 11 AM at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service.
Eryn Fruge was born in Mankato, Minnesota May 24, 1954, later moving to Souix Falls, SD and graduating from Lincoln High School in 1972 to attain her B.S. in Sociology from U of South Dakota and A.A in Criminal Justice. She later moved to Iowa City where she resided for most of her life. Eryn kept busy working as a Resident Assistant, Receptionist/Title XIX Clerk, volunteering for United Way and ultimately as office manager for both United Way and later Lutheran Social Services before retiring.
While frugal, Eryn lived a full life being an avid news junkie, ardent reader, writer of poetry, and a practicing Christian. Eryn was faithful to life long learning, engaging in self-designed research project and mathematical problems. Never one to stress another, she was a kind, thoughtful, giving and even feisty soul. Even in her final days, she placed others’ needs before her own. Counting a select few as friends, Eryn nurtured and treasured those whom she came to trust and was ever-thankful for these ‘gifts of life’ in her life. Eryn will be missed by the many she touched throughout her life. Imparting a measure of her personality, some of her parting words are, “Thanks for the ride… it sure was long!”
