Mother, Son Die Sunday

SOLON - Two Solon residents, a mother and her 55-year-old son, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City within a period of three hours.
Vernon G. Rossler, 55, died at 9:30 a.m. following a short illness.
His mother, Mrs. Mary Meyer Rossler, 87, died at 12:30 p.m. She had been in the hospital for the past several weeks.
A lifelong resident of Solon, Mr. Rossler was born September 28, 1899 and spent his entire life on the farm where he was born.
He was a member of the Eagles lodge and the Zion Lutheran church in Iowa City.
Survivors include his widow, Lillie, and one daughter, Anna Rossler, at home.
A sister, Mrs. Ada Hertz of near Solon, also survives.
His mother was born August 24, 1867 in Solon and spent her entire life in the Solon Community.
She was married to George C. Rossler. He preceded her in death.
She also was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Rossler is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Hertz, two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Double funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Solon Methodist church with the Rev. A.C. Proehl of Iowa City offciating. Burial will be in the Oakland cemetery at Solon.
Friends may call at the Brosh funeral home in Solon.
