Mrs. Horace Sanders, 2026 Muscatine avenue, Iowa City, died at Mercy hospital at 9 o'clock Friday morning. She had been in frail health for several years and critically ill for the last seven weeks.

Calista Pratt Sanders, who was the daughter of William E. and Emma D. Trotter Pratt, was a pioneer of Johnson county, having been born and reared on a farm in the Fairview community. She was educated in the public schools and was a student for a time in the university.

Mrs. Sanders was a teacher for many years and later employed in business in Iowa City until her marriage. Her husband, Horace Sanders, died in May 1926. Mrs. Sanders was a member of the Methodist church and its organizations as well as the W.C.T.U. and Elder Daughters. She was a worker in the Iowa City Woman's club in those activities in which she was especially interested.
