Mrs. Mary Lovetisnky, 73, one of the pioneer residents of Iowa City and vicinity, passed away at 4:15 o'clock Thursday morning at her home at 726 East Market street. She has been ill for almost two years and had been seriously ill for abut two months.

Mary Kondora was born in Bohemia, November 22, 1858, and came to America with her parents when she was four years old. The family crossed the ocean in a sailboat in a hazardous journey. After arriving in this country they settled in the vicinity of Iowa City.

She was married to Frank Lovetinsky 55 years ago. For many years, the couple resided on a farm three and a half miles east of Iowa City on what is now Highway No. 1. They moved to Iowa City 12 years ago.

She is survived by her husband and five sons and a daughter, Will, of Iowa City, Ed and Frank of Oasis, and George and Fred of Iowa City, and Mrs. Maynard Strub of Iowa City. Two brothers, Albert and Thomas Kondora of Iowa City and 13 grandchildren also survive.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus church. Funeral services were held at 8:00 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Wenceslaus church. Burial was in Oakland cemetery beside her son John, who passed away a number of years ago.
