The death of John Myers, prominent resident of North Liberty, occurred at his home Friday, and funeral services were held Sunday.

Mr. Myers was a life-long resident of Johnson county, being born September 10th, 1852. Had he lived until Sunday, he would have reached his 81st birthday. He had been an invalid a number of years, having suffered a series of paralytic strokes.

Mr. Myers was prominent in musical circles in this community and until his health failed, was a leader in this activity.

On September 4, 1872, Mr. Myers was married in Iowa City to Miss Emma Hoover of North Liberty.

Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. O. E. Cress of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Edna Swords of Eldon, four sons, Ernest and C. O. Myers of Iowa City, O. P. Myers of Cedar Rapids and Ralph C. Myers of Moberly, Mo., a sister, Mrs. Emma Zeller of North Liberty, 15 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One daughter passed away in 1911.
