Mrs. Abbie H. Sidwell, 83, a resident of Iowa City for the last 25 years, passed away Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. W. Bennett, 1105 Kirkwood ave. Death followed an illness of the last two years.

She was born April 7, 1850, at Flushing, Ohio. In 1897 she and her family moved to Whittier, Ia. She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Bennett, in recent years.

Surviving her are four daughters, Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. Robert Spencer of Iowa City; Mrs. Edgar Dewees of San Gabriel, Calif,; and Mrs. E. A. Ish, Waterloo, Ind., and three sons, Albert B. Sidwell, president of the Sidwell Dairy company, Iowa City; Dallas J. Sidwell, Portland, Ore., and Wilson Sidwell, Buenos Aires, S.A. Three sisters, Mrs. Walter Vail, Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. Martha Bishop, Flushing, O. and Miss Emma Holloway, Flushing, O.; and 24 grandchildren also survive.

Her husband preceded her in death in June, 1910, and a son, Edwin, died in 1919.

Funeral services were held at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Bennett, with Dr. Harry D. Henry, pastor of the Methodist church in charge, and at 3 o'clock at the Friends' meeting house at Whittier, where she was a member for many years. Burial was made at Whittier.
