Donald Lamont Snider was born near Frytown in - Johnson County, Iowa. He was the son of Will and Faith (Means) Snider. Don graduated from Sharon Center High School in 1933.
Donald and Pauline Gingerich were united in marriage on February 18, 1951 in Pauline's sister's home near Parnell.
Donald was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and the Johnson County Farm Bureau. Don enjoyed farming, visting with friends, and was an avid reader. The couple enjoyed camping in Kent Park, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
The couple were dairy farmers until retiring and moving to Kalon in 1991. They currently lived in the Pleasantview campus.
His wife, Pauline of Kalona and one sister Marjorie Yoder of Kalona, survives Donald. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
His parents, and one brother-in-law, Glen Yoder, preceded Donald in death.
A memorial in Donald's memory has been established for the Kalona 1st Responders or the Sharon Center United Methodist Church. The family extends their gratitude for the many acts of kindness shown them during this time of their loss. May God bless each of you.
